Volunteering with SOS

Our service is enhanced by volunteers, all of whom agree to a disclosure from the Criminal Records Bureau and complete a training programme before being introduced to the family or individual that they will be offering support to. Volunteers receive support from the SOS Team throughout the period of support to a family.

As a Family Support Volunteer you get the chance to assist with:

• The completion of paperwork and forms, e.g. benefit claims, housing applications
• Emotional support for parents, carers and children
• Enabling individuals access to training, volunteering or learning
• Developing routines at home and household budgeting
