Current Funding Available

Grassroots Grants

Grassroots Grants is a new fund from Derbyshire Community Foundation. The fund supports a broad range of community and voluntary groups and aims to support community life and tackle disadvantage.

To apply for this fund your group must have an annual turnover of less than 20,000 and have been running for over 12 months. The type of project costs that can be funded are:
· Capital (any items of equipment)
· Revenue (any non-equipment costs) including ongoing running costs for a project or group
· One off events or one off projects.

Groups can apply for a minimum of 250 and a maximum of 5,000. The fund will run for approximately three years and groups can apply to this fund more than once as long as the total cost is less than 5,000, for example
· You may apply for 5,000 in year 1 for a project that will be completed in 12 months. In this case you would not be able to apply to the Grassroots Grants fund again.
· Your group could apply for 2,000 in year 1 and after a successful 12 month grant return to apply for a further 2,000 in year 2, in year 3 you would still be able to return but only for 1,000. Each application will be assessed on its own merit and a successful grant application does not guarantee Grassroots Grant funding in subsequent years.

There are no fixed closing dates but the three year programme will end in December 2010. Examples of what may be funded include
· Costs to put on a workshop or training event
· Funds to purchase furniture or ICT equipment
· Staff costs for a specific post
· Contribution to rent or transport costs
